Description

The Biosart® 250 Funnel has been specifically designed for the microbiological and analytical quality assurance. Biosart® 250 are sterile funnels which allow fast filtration in routine microbiological analysis of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, water, food and beverages and other liquids.

The major area of application for Biosart® 250 Funnels is the microbiological analysis of relatively large sample volumes that have a low number of microbes, with membrane filtration being an essential step. In addition, the Biosart® 250 Funnels are also suitable for testing smaller volumes by placing the sample in a few ml of sterile physiological NaCl solution. Biosart® 250 Funnels have been specifically designed for microbiological testing of pharmaceuticals, food, beverages, water and other liquids. They are sterile, ready to use 250 ml plastic funnels and are designed to be placed onto the bases of a vacuum manifold. A Sartorius gridded membrane filter is placed on a stainless steel filter support. A Biosart® 250 Funnels is simply mounted and the sample is filtered. The funnel is made of polypropylene and is sufficiently elastic for optimal sealing with a bayonet-type closure. Graduations are marked at 50, 100, 150 and 200 ml for easy measurement of exact sample volumes. The large inner diameter ensures a high flow rate. The conical form allows a thorough rinsing of the system subsequent to filtration. No liquid is retained in the filter funnel. Biosart® 250 Funnels allow quick performance of the filtration steps required in the routine.

Biosart® 250 Funnels

Description

Microsart® Funnels allow quick performance of the filtration steps required in the routine microbiological analysis of water, food and beverages, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products. A Sartorius gridded membrane filter is placed on a stainless steel filter support and a Microsart® Funnel is simply mounted by clicking it on. The funnels, available for various sample volumes, are made of polypropylene and are thus elastic enough to ensure optimal sealing with a click-fit closure.

Microsart® Funnels are sterile plastic funnels. They allow quick performance of the filtrations required in the routine testing of water, food and beverages, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products. A Sartorius Stedim Biotech gridded membrane is placed on a stainless steel filter support and a Microsart® Funnel is simply and practically fitted on. The sample is filtered. The funnel is made of polypropylene and thus is elastic enough for optimal sealing with a click-fit closure. Graduations are marked for sufficiently exact sample volumes. The large inner diameter ensures a high flow rate. The optimized shape allows a thorough rinsing of the system subsequent to filtration.

Description

The Biosart® 100 Monitors have been specifically designed for the detection and enumeration of microorganisms in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, beverages, water and other liquids. The monitors are sterile funnels, ready-to-use due to the incorporated membrane filter and cellulose pad. After filtration, just remove the 100 ml funnel to convert the monitor into a petri dish, eliminating the need of membrane manipulation.

Culture media for wetting the pad is available in individually sterilized, convenient plastic ampoules. Biosart® 100 Monitors are ready to use filter units designed to be placed onto the bases of a vacuum manifold. Biosart® 100 Monitors ensures the identification of all colonies. The monitors are available in a variety of different types: Monitors with cellulose nitrate (cellulose ester) membranes, a material which assures effective retention with high flow rates and optimum colony growth. The printed grid lines make the counting easier, especially for higher bacteria counts and for micro-colonies, but do not influence the growth. The three various filter colors, green, white and gray (after wetting black), allow the best contrast to the colonies. Monitors with regenerate cellulose membranes, a material which combines high flow rates with high chemical stability, are ideal for bioburden-testing in the veterinary sector, where a lot of products are based on solvents.

Description

Ready-to-use, sterile Microsart® @filter units combine a funnel and a gridded membrane filter in one unit. They have been specifically developed for the detection and enumeration of microorganisms in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, beverages, water and other liquids.

Microsart® @filter 100 and 250 filter units are a sterile and ready-to-use combination of funnel, filter base and gridded membrane in one unit. They have been specifically developed for the detection and enumeration of microorganisms in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, beverages, water and other liquids.

The Microsart® @filter range has been tailored to meet individual needs. There are two volume sizes to choose from, 100 ml and 250 ml, different pore sizes and different filter colors for constrasting backgrounds during evaluation. Marked graduations allow accurate sample volumes.The optimal design permits a thorough rinsing of the system following filtration. No liquid is retained in the filter funnel. Optimal sealing to the Microsart® Base 47 mm is guaranteed by the Click-Fit closure. The filter units are available as tray versions with lids, or are stacked in bags for safe removal using the Microsart® Funnel Dispenser.

Biosart® 100 Monitors

Description

Individual filter holders, stand-alone, to be assembled on vacuum flasks or on manifolds, depending on the particular version. Available in stainless steel, glass or polycarbonate.

Stainless Steel Filter Holders

Stainless steel holders differ in their funnel capacity (choice of 40 ml, 100 ml or 500 ml) and in their valve type (part numbers ending with CS feature sterile venting). They are specifically designed for applications in which particles or microorganisms need to be retained on the surface of membrane filters. Their stainless steel frit filter support ensures uniform distribution of the retained particles over the entire surface of the membrane filter. Special features facilitate the use of these filter holders during routine testing. Their stainless steel taps are easy to turn on and off, and only one hand is needed to use the unique clamp for secure fastening or convenient removal of the funnel.

Glass Filter Holders

These filter holders are available with a 30 ml funnel (filter dia. 25 mm) for small-volume filtration or with a 250 ml funnel (filter dia. 47|50 mm) for large-volume filtration. They can be sterilized by autoclaving (max. 134°C) or by dry heat (max. 180°C). The glass frit ensures uniform distribution of retained particles.

Polycarbonate Filter Holders

Type 16510 is complete with a receiver flask, and can be used with vacuum or low pressure (0.5 bar|7.3 psi is recommended for maximum throughput). Type 16511 is the same as 16510, but without a receiver flask. It is designed for use on a suction flask or a vacuum manifold (e.g. Combisart® systems). Both types can be sterilized by autoclaving (max. 121°C).

Description

The Microsart® Combi.jet is a 2-branch manifold, made of high-grade stainless steel. The manifold has been specifically designed for the use together with the new Microsart® e.jet Transfer Pump (ISO 8199 compliant). The system is able to create sufficient vacuum for vacuum filtration concurrently transferring the filtered liquid directly to waste. Microsart® Combi.jet and Microsart® e.jet can be easily connected and disassembled by the innovative Quick Connection technology.

Compact Design

The complete traditional equipment, such as connectors, tubes, suction flask, protection filter, Woulff’s bottle and a vacuum pump, requires a lot of laboratory space and is time consuming to operate and maintain. The manifold systems are available with 100 ml or 500 ml capacity funnels. The three or six separate filter holders save time when mass examinations of 100 ml volume samples have to be carried out. Due to the stainless steel taps on the manifold ports the vacuum for each holder can be turned on and off individually. The stainless steel frit ensures a homogenous distribution of the residues on the membrane filter surface. Funnel and filter support can be disinfected by flaming.

The Microsart® e.jet vacuum laboratory pump is designed to create sufficient vacuum for filtration and unlike traditional vacuum pumps, it allows simultaneous transfer of the filtered liquid to waste. The Microsart® e.jet Transfer Pump is ideal for sample filtration in Microbiology achieving a trans membrane pressure below 700 mbar in compliance with ISO 8199 (Water quality - General guidance on the enumeration of micro-organisms by culture). Constant flow rates and a defined maximum vacuum guarantee smooth and reliable filtration. The Microsart® e.jet Transfer Pump greatly reduces operating complexity and is an ideal accessory for 3-branch and 1-branch manifolds. The Microsart® e.jet is designed to pump both gas and liquids, meaning no loss of efficiency or malfunctions from water drawn into the pump head.

The vacuum pump series Microsart® maxi.vac and Microsart® mini.vac provide up to date technology for daily use in the Microbiology laboratory environment. They are electric neoprene membrane pumps and therefore oil- and maintenance-free with a low noise level. The vacuum produced by these pumps is controlled and can be easily adjusted to your specifications. Thus sensitive cells (e.g. bacteria) are concentrated on the surface of a membrane filter under better conditions, which results in decreased mortality of the cells, higher recovery rates and shorter incubation times.

Description

Single packed or dispenser-ready sterile membranes can be used for colony counting, particle testing, microscopy and sterility testing. The membrane filters are made of cellulose nitrate (cellulose mixed ester), cellulose acetate or regenerated cellulose. Choose between gridded or non-gridded single packed sterile membranes, either with or without hydrophobic edge.

Sterile, gridded membrane filters are widely used for routine microbiological quality control due to the benefits they offer. Whether single-packed or dispenser-ready, the membrane filters are ready-to-use and each filter is individually packed, offering highest security whilst saving preparatory time. Each individual envelope is marked with the filter identification and lot number.

The membrane filters are available in different pore sizes and three different material types. Cellulose nitrate filters (mixed cellulose ester) contain a mixture of cellulose nitrate and cellulose acetate, a material which assures effective retention combined with high flow rates and optimal colony growth. Cellulose acetate combines high flow rates and thermal stability with very low adsorption characteristics. The various filter colors allow the best possible contrast to the colonies for easy and reliable quantification and identification.

Description

Microsart® e.motion membrane filters for colony counting, particle testing and microscopy. The membrane filters, specifically designed for use in the Microsart® e.motion dispenser, are individually sterile-sealed in a format packaged on a pleated band, without protective paper. The special pleating of the band of membrane filters ensures that they are perfectly flat when dispensed. The membrane filters can also be used with Sartorius nutrient pad sets.

The Microsart® e.motion membrane filters are suitable for the use with the Microsart® e.motion dispenser. The filters are individually sterile-sealed on a band without any protective paper. The special pleating as well as the shape of the sealing of the band of membrane filters ensures a perfectly flat and uniform dispensing of the individual membrane filters.

The Microsart® e.motion membrane filters are also ideal for all users of the Sartorius Nutrient Pad Sets: most of the NPS types are available with Microsart® e.motion membrane filters.

Description

The non-sterile membrane filters are made of cellulose nitrate (cellulose mixed ester), cellulose acetate or regenerated cellulose. They can be used for colony counting, particle testing and microscopy. Choose between gridded or non-gridded, membranes, either with or without hydrophobic edge.

Non-sterile, gridded membrane filters can be used for colony counting, particle testing and microscopy. Before usage, the filters first need to be sterilized (e.g. by autoclaving at 121°C). The membrane filters are available in different pore sizes and three different material types. Cellulose nitrate filters (mixed cellulose ester) contain a mixture of cellulose nitrate and cellulose acetate, which assures effective retention combined with high flow rates and optimal colony growth. Cellulose acetate combines high flow rates and thermal stability with very low adsorption characteristics. The various filter colors allow the best possible contrast to the colonies or particles for easy and reliable quantification and identification.
